A portrait isn’t always just a portrait …

May 26th, 2014

I often work for commercial magazines. Some time ago i did a portrait for a magazine about a running race. It was a girl who sometimes talks in the radio about training and running. So they wanted her in the studio but with some training gear on. Here you can see how a simple portrait sometimes isn’t just that simple. The colors in the syudio where terrible, here clothes were kind of cool but didn’t match the interior of the room! The place where she usually sits when she’s a guest there wasn’t that good for shooting so i put her in the control guy’s seat instead.

The Boat Trip …

May 9th, 2014

This wednesday we went out to shoot some images for Näringslivsbolaget. It was for a campaign they’re doing this summer. There was a team shooting film at they same time, and i was there to shoot the still image for ads etc.

The idea was a chaotic boat trip with the grandparent, because the parents had left them with him while going to a spa or restaurant. The grandfather is fishing in the boat and at the same time trying to take care of two crazy kids! Everybodey did a fantastic job, even though the “grandfather” fell into the water and it was kind of freezing outside.

I wanted som rim lights from the back so we had big light stands out in the water, but nothing caught fire or blew up! 😀 The lighting was made with three Profoto generators and three lampheads and a ringflash.
We had some bread that we threw out in the water to get som good images of seagulls! Worked perfect, almost too perfect. At the end we had like 30 segulls around us!
I had to deliver the finished image this morning so i did all the post production yesterday and yesterday evening. Will post the image as soon as possible!

Clothes in the studio …

April 30th, 2014

Mittplagg is a company that i have been shooting for during the last years. Last week it was time for another shoot! We had three models and a whole rack of clothes to shoot before the day was over. Since we shot whole figures it was important to keep the floor clean during the day, so i made a little “doormat” to keep shoes and feet clean 🙂

Exhibition …

April 27th, 2014

The 24:th of april the exhibition “Hommage in Photography 1” opened and i have an image there. It was a very nice opening with a lot of guests and good meetings! The exhibition is a result of a project where different photographers chose a photographer to do a hommage to. The twist is that we all use the same “object”, someone from, or the whole rock band, Jetbone.
I chose Anton Corbijn and his portrait of Miles Davis where he has his hands in his face. But i did it my way with a lot of colors whilst the original is in blach & white.

The exhibition is open until the 30:th of august at the Hotel Diplomat in Stockholm. If you are in Stockholm during the summer take the chance to look at it!

Memira

April 11th, 2014

Memira wanted some new images for a local campaign. The images where to be shot in their operating room 🙂 The lighting was not to advanced but it can be a little tricky with all the machines and things in a room. Some of them are really cool and can be in the picture and some doesn’t work at all in the image!
To get a little more natural light in the background i put a lamp head in the back of the room to give the look of light coming in from the window. To get a softer light from it i just threw a diffusor from one of my light banks over it.
We shot a couple of different group pictures and also did individual portraits.

A spread in the latest F Magazine

April 4th, 2014

I’m in the latest issue of the F magazine that is published by the Association of Swedish Professional Photographers. It’s a spread about how one of my images was made, from planning it to the finished image!

From above in the studio

April 1st, 2014

I shot together with Sweetpop the word Vardag (An ordinary day) in different ways in the studio the other day. It looked kind of fun when i took a shoot when they were adjusting the letters in the word so i decided to take a group photo from above. I first time here on my blog! 🙂

Studio shoot for SPV

March 12th, 2014

I do some assignments for the The National Government Employee Pensions Board (SPV) and yesterday it was time for another shoot! This time it was for a yearly event they have. The idea was to have a little girl hold a giant piece of a puzzle in which she is portrayed as an old version of herself.
We started setting up for the little girl with the big piece of a puzzle (which we had to hang from a rod as it was so heavy). We took some versions without the piece as well just in case.
After we where finished we did i new setting of the lights and shoot the “older” version of the girls. Now there is a little bit of post production left before we can deliver the finished image!

A big thanks to André for the “behind-the-scenes” images!

YOHIO, again …

February 14th, 2014

Actually i do shoot other persons than YOHIO 🙂 but the last couple of weeks i’ve done two times. This time it was for the new album that’s coming out soon. We’re going to composite this image with some other stuff so it’s gonna be real cool! We shot two different poses and one of them will be used, shot some close-ups and details too, this will probably be used in the album booklet.

YOHIO 2014

February 5th, 2014

YOHIO made it to the finals in the Melodifestivalen this year as well, not too surprising! Images for press, new album and posters are needed right away!
We did a little new more modern lighting on these pictures! It felt really good!
I shot some pictures with YOHIO standing on his knees and as i often want to shoot from a very low angle we ended up building a podium for him to stand on!

Now they have chosen seven images so i have to get to it!
