Panic in a garage …
September 27th, 2010After a crazy day yesterday shopping for models of trains, cars, planes and boats i spended this day in a garage with a very helpful and calm “model builder”. The panic came from the images had to be ready and delivered the day after the shoot! So i knew where i would have to spend my evening ….
Anyway, back to the garage. It’s not completely easy to set the lights when you in your head not planned with all the things that would block them. I had walls, benches och big garage doors in the way where i wanted the lights, but this can have something to do with the fact that i hadn’t been in this garage before this shoot. 😀 But after some trial and error i got the lights where i wanted them, and had created a nice “hobby room” in one of the corners in the garage. The table was made of a spare board i placed on some wooden things, then set to the exact right height by placing it on different stuff i found in the garage. But of course no one sees that in the final picture 😉
My dear model did a terrific job and after about 100 exposures i’d got what i wanted. three hours of setting up, 20 minutes of shooting and about four hours in Photoshop was the result of this day!
The lighting was done with two Profoto Magnum reflectors from the back in a 45 degree angle, one Profoto 3×4 foot softbox in the front from the right and the Profoto Ringflash as the main light.
